Barcelona paella cooking class with La Boqueria market visit: which ones include it
Three of our six classes include a La Boqueria visit: the €90 class, the €59 class and the €99 class. The other three cook without a market visit.
When a La Boqueria market cooking class skips the market
The market is closed on Sundays and public holidays, so no class visits it then. The €90 class also skips it in its 9 pm class and offers another activity instead. The €99 class skips it for evening classes.
What you cook and eat
Every class cooks paella, most often seafood paella, and serves sangria and tapas. The €99 class cooks a full Spanish meal instead.
The €99 class pours unlimited Spanish wines. For more wine, see our wine tours from Barcelona.
Paella is only one dish; Barcelona food beyond it is easy to try on your own.
How much a paella cooking class costs

Is a cooking class worth it, or a food tour?
A class is worth it if you want to cook and take the recipe home. You eat what you make, so it is also your meal.
If you would rather eat than cook, a Barcelona food tour visits more bars in about the same time.
Is La Boqueria worth it, or a tourist trap?
We found no fair source that settles it, so we will not judge it. What we can say: three of our classes walk you through it before you cook.
For opening days and what to eat there, see our La Boqueria market page.
Diets, kids and start times
Most classes can work around a diet if you tell them. The €90 class asks about diets at the start. The €59 class has a vegetarian option on request. The Gràcia class sells a vegetarian paella as an extra and is not for vegans.
The Gràcia class starts at 7 pm and lets no one in after 7:15 pm. It lasts 2.5 hours, so it ends about 9:30 pm, and a Barcelona nightlife club night can still follow.
The classes are spread across the city, in Gràcia, Sant Martí and Sants-Montjuïc. See getting around Barcelona for the metro.
Booking tips for Barcelona cooking classes
Want the market? Avoid Sundays
No class visits La Boqueria on Sundays or public holidays, because the market is closed.
Pick a daytime class
The €90 and €99 classes skip the market in the evening.
Be on time
The Gràcia class turns away anyone who arrives after 7:15 pm.
If your plans change
All six have free cancellation. Check the deadline on the listing before you pay.
